I was once right there with you. HTML code looked like a long string of crazy symbols. It was so foreign it might well have been Chinese. But once I learned how to read code, and even better, how to use it, a whole new world opened up.
Suddenly my blog and I were speaking the same language. Now I can tell it what I want it to do and it complies. Those therapists are right – communication is the key to everything.
That’s why I’m introducing a new feature on Moxie Tonic:
A Dose of HTML
Frankly, if you’re not a web designer, tackling HTML is like taking your medicine or eating your broccoli. It’s not nearly as fun as blog hopping or favoriting items on Etsy, but it’s very, very good for you. Especially if you want to tweak your blog or email templates.

Today’s Dose: Embedding your email address in a link
This is a quickie – and requires hardly any code – and it’s the perfect way to fool the spambots combing the Internet for email addresses.
The most common (non-techie) misdirect is to spell out your email address – if I was giving mine, I would say:
Email me at natalie at moxiet dot com if you have any questions.
